(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Monday, January 20, 2025, at 12:00 pm the Presidential Inauguration will occur in Washington D.C.
In accordance with Code of Federal Regulation 33 Part 165.508, a temporary security zone will be established on the waters of the Potomac River, Anacostia River, and adjacent waters within an area encompassing all navigable waters north of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. The Security zone will be established on January 18, 2025, at 8:00 am and be enforced through 11:59 pm on January 21, 2025.
Mariners are directed not to transit within this security zone. Persons or vessels who are previously cleared to operate within or in the immediate vicinity of this zone shall stop, and if permitted to proceed within the zone by the Captain of the Port or his designated representative, only proceed as directed and at the minimum speed necessary to maintain a safe course. The U.S. Coast Guard may be assisted in the patrol and enforcement of the zone by federal, state, and local agencies.
